The study aimed to determine the professional identification and teaching quality of PE teachers in selected secondary schools in Batangas City. Specifically, it sought to describe the profile of the teachers in selected schools in Batangas City; identify the professional identity of the respondents; describe the qualities of physical education teachers; and propose a plan of action that can be developed to become an effective physical education teacher based on the results of the study. It utilized a qualitative research design for professional identification and teaching quality of physical education teachers with validated set of question as the gathering instruments. The questionnaire was adopted from the study of professional perception of quality physical education learning in selected Asian cities. Data were collected from 106 physical education teachers in both private and public schools in Batangas City. Results showed most of the respondents are 40-49 years old, obtained bachelor’s degree with the teaching experience in the current of 11-20 years. Most of the respondents are female teachers from public schools.
