Kultura at Wikang Filipino sa mga Facebook Status Update

This study determined the culture and Filipino Language in Facebook status update in the year 2019-2020. Documentary-analysis were used in the data gathering. Interviewed were conducted on the facebook users using interview scheduled. To determine the data gathered from respondents the researcher employed rubric. Respondents on the study were researcher’s facebook friends. The posted on timeline and facebook wall of facebook users for two weeks were the data gathered by the researcher and posted within 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm were only analyzed. On the data gathered, the following were identified: Different Cultures were included on the facebook status posts by teenagers today according to their beliefs, values and attitudes or behavior. The use of language on facebook status are informative, interactional, personal, regulatory, imaginative, heuristic, and instrumental. Most often they use informal degree of language on facebook status. It is recommended that modern technology will be used especially in social media to nurture and enrich Filipino culture. For people to be critical and be responsible on sharing information on facebook, it should be considered that not all ideas and feelings can be shared in social media especially if it is too personal. Careful used of language should be properly observed in expressing feelings and thoughts.
