The study identified the status of community extension program of dentistry department of a private academic institution in the Philippines based on the perception of the student and faculty volunteers in terms of its adherence to the mission and goals of the university, organizational structure and management and resources allocation according to manpower and financial resources; the perceived impact to the volunteers of the preventive dental program and if there is a significant difference on the perception of the respondents and the impact of preventive dental program. Descriptive type of research was utilized in the study. Findings showed that the volunteers perceived that the department adhere to the mission and goals of the university, and that effective delegation, budget management, transparency and open communication are keys to effective implementation and management of community extension programs.
