The celebration of the feast of Inâ- Nuestra Señora de Peñafrancia was become part of history and culture of Bicolandia. This paper discussed the history of the image of Inâ- Nuestra Señora de Peñafrancia enshrined at Basilica Minore which was used in the procession during the feast of Peñafrancia in Naga City. Another contention of this paper, to narrate about the author’s experiences and observations in the celebration of the feast of INA in Naga City. These observations helped her to understand the different ways and practices of patronizing the Blessed Mother and the perceptions of followers/devotees about the image. And, it also presents the causes of patronizing Ina and ways of showing their faith to the Blessed Mother. Using archival method, the researcher retrieved the materials (books and pictures pertaining to the history of the Blessed Mother) from the different libraries and museum in Naga City including those from minor and major seminaries. Through the use of indigenous method (groping, asking questions, shared sensitivities, concerned interference, participation as one-with the-others and integral involvement) with the followers of the Blessed Mother, the researcher discovered that the image of the Blessed Mother/Ina have portrayed different characteristics as mother of Jesus Christ. Indeed, the followers/devotees have strong faith/belief that Ina is truly the representation of the Virgin Mary.
