Eclectic approach is a combination of any approaches and strategies. In this study , the eclectic approach refers to the process approach and metacognitive strategy. The objective of this study is to evaluate the writing skills of Grade 11 Senior High School Students who employed the traditional and eclectic approach. Two groups with fifteen (15) respondents each were being studied. Descriptive- comparative design was used. Experts from CHED and DepEd served as validators of the written output of the respondents based on five elements of writing; content, organization, vocabulary, usage and mechanics. These written outputs include position paper, bionote, reflective essay and other compositions. Results showed that the level of writing skills of students who utilized the eclectic approach is higher compared to their counterpart. This study suggests that eclectic approach enhances students’ writing skills.
